For 2004, the Grand Cherokee gets a factory-installed DVD navigation system integrated into the radio. Columbia, Freedom and Special Edition trims are also new for 2004. All of these models incorporate subtle cosmetic touches and equipment upgrades. Additionally, each Columbia Edition Jeep comes with a complimentary Columbia parka.

Wisconsin experience - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Burley - November 22 - 2:00 amHeadrests too low; access to windshield wiper/washer controls and access to headlight controls a little constricted and difficult to see selections through the steering wheel. Comfortable front seating, handles well,is sufficiently responsive, interior appointments well done. Information center upgrades over previous years a nice feature.

I think that the products will become some of the best made American cars on the road.

2004 GC Laredo (4.0L I6) - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By pghegseth - October 4 - 11:46 pmPreviously owned a 96 Laredo 4x4 (purchased in 2000) and loved it. Perhaps the most reliable vehicle I ever owned. 240,000 miles with only minor maintenance and still eating up miles (my son has it now). I bought the 2004 Laredo twelve years later to replace it, I had to have the indestructable I6 engine! Very pleased with it so far. It rides more comfortably than my old Jeep and looks sharper (Silver with black trim and a dark grey interior). If it holds up as well as my previous Jeep Laredo I will be most pleased. Maintenance is just a fact of life in all vehicles, regardless of make /model. If youre fortunate (like I was), it all minor maintenance and wearable parts.

By athlon8ghz - August 12 - 10:00 amthis is my second jeep and i like it better than most suvs out there. this is a true go anywhere vehicle period. if you feel you need an suv as a daily driver, better look for something else because this is for those who actually need a capable vehicle able to go through almost anything nature throws at them. maybe this is why jeeps are often used as search and rescue vehicles and not just for off road. the only other true suvs that is as capable as a jeep is a hummer, a rover, and an mb g-series. thats it. a jeep is what you need and will be glad that you have when the going gets real tough.

By bobobobobobobo - May 24 - 2:00 amI dont own a grand cherokee yet but thinking about buying it for a while. I owed many different cars but never US. I never trusted cars made in US such as ford, chrysler or GM. I work for an extended aftermarket warranty and I have to say Ford GM and Chrysler are amonge the worst vehicle out there. The reason I want Grand Cherokee laredo is simple its very relible and engine is just phenomenal. This is only veh I have no problems with and very little claim comes from laredo. I would recommend laredo to anyone who is looking for Grand Cherokee. Engine is excelent, that is the only reason I would buy it.

common sense on gas mileage - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By wrangler driver - May 13 - 10:00 amI average 19mpg and that is not bad for a 4x4.I have gotten 23.5 on interstate driving. Front seats are much more comfortable than any other suv I have driven. Traction is good. The only problem I have had was a leaking windshield. Body roll is a tad excessive, but overall ride is great for a 4x4 that I am not afraid to take on a mountain farm road! A bit noisyer than I expected. Belongs to my wife and she likes it better than I do. I drive a 95 YJ!

Idle problems - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By reeac - February 22 - 10:00 amI purchased this jeep and immediately had a problem with the idle dropping to 400 RPM. I took it back to the dealer and they changed some computer module and gave it back. It wasnt a day and the problem returned, I took it back to the dealer and they said that it seemed to be that way on all the special editions because evey one they had was doing the same thing. Any help for a solution is appreciated.
